Quartararo has been bumped down to 10th and in the danger zone. Looking to break into the top 10 is the likes of Morbidelli, Vinales, Rins, Alex Marquez and Jack Miller – who had a top 10 time deleted moments ago.
Martin dips into the 1m30s for the first time today as he goes top with a 1m30.966s.
Replay of the Acosta crash shows he just tucked the front on the way into Turn 8.
Pedro Acosta has crashed at Turn 8. He’s up and ok. That’s brought yellow flags out, which will affect laps for others.
Marc Marquez has now gone fastest with a 1m31.034s.
But Bastianini has been quickly beaten by Acosta with a 1m31.203s.
Bastianini needed a big lap and he’s produced one! The Ducati rider fires in a 1m31.242s to go top.
Binder goes third on the factory KTM with a 1m31.422s. Jumps up from 15th. Bastianini goes ninth, but he’ll need more to bag a Q2 place.
Ahead of the time attack flurry at the end of this session, here is the current Q2 order:
Quartararo was on a lap that was set to put him top of the order, but he touched the green paint at Turn 11 and has had this effort scrubbed.
Martin finds a 1m31.579s on a 17-lap-old soft rear tyre in fifth. That’s some seriously impressive pace from the world championship leader.
Aleix Espargaro jumps up to third on a fresh soft rear tyre with a 1m31.433.
The majority of the field is in pitlane at the moment gearing up for their time attacks to get into Q2. Martin is still out there on used soft rubber and is posting some quick sectors, though remains fourth.
A couple of riders have gone early on a fresh soft tyre for a time attack, among them Vinales and Pol Espargaro – both of whom inside the top 10 right now with just over 20 minutes to go.
Lots of lap times being cancelled for track limits this session. Grip is good at Misano, so it’s inevitable that we’re seeing many riders going over the limits.
Acosta heads back to the top of the standings with a 1m31.301s.
Alex Marquez may be drawing the ire of the other factory Ducati rider now, as he looks like he may have gotten in Bastianini’s way down at Turn 14.
As we dip into the final half an hour of the session, Martin has jumped up to fourth on his Pramac Ducati.
Been an exciting session so far with lots of chopping and changing. Top 10 with half an hour to go is:
Marquez’s lap was done on a 10-lap-old soft rear tyre and is about a second off the lap record at Misano.
I suspect we’ll see that record go later on this session.
Marc Marquez shoots to the top of the order with a 1m31.364s, while Bagnaia goes second. Marquez’s advantage 0.206s.
We’ve had some movement at the top of the order. Marc Marquez is second with a 1m31.703s, while Bagnaia has leaped up to third.
A little bit further down the order, Enea Bastianini is currently 11th on his Ducati.
Top Honda at the moment is Johann Zarco for LCR in 17th.
Quartararo looks to have lost more bodywork from his Yamaha, this time from the left side going through Turn 12. He’s back in the pits now.
Twenty minutes of the session have passed and the top 10 looks like this:
